6.0 Responsibilities
6.1 Project Engineer
- Ensure all PCC works are executed strictly in accordance with approved specifications and drawings[cite: 1].
- Verify that ongoing activities adhere to the planned construction program and that all required equipment is on site and in good operational condition[cite: 1].
- Coordinate with the Client/Consultant, Project Manager, Site Engineer, Safety Engineer, and Surveyor for safe, smooth execution[cite: 1].
- Enforce safety measures and quality control in conjunction with the Safety and QA/QC Engineers following the project HSE and Quality Plans[cite: 1].
6.2 Site Engineer
- Directly supervise PCC operations as per project specifications and construction drawings[cite: 1].
- Distribute daily site responsibilities and technical details to the construction execution team[cite: 1].
- Monitor daily work progress against the project schedule and report updates to the Project Engineer/Manager[cite: 1].

6.3 QA Engineer

7.0 Procedure / Method to be Employed
7.1 Site Preparation & Layout Check
- Verify layout, line, levels, and plan dimensions with the survey team prior to placing concrete[cite: 1].
7.2 Concrete Mix & Proportioning
- Nominal Mix: Use 1:2:4 (Cement : Sand : Coarse Aggregate) by volume when specified[cite: 1].
- Compressive Strength: Standard 1:2:4 nominal mix concrete must achieve a minimum 7-day compressive strength of 140 kg/cm²[cite: 1].
7.3 Concrete Mixing
- Hand Mixing: Permitted only on a watertight masonry platform or heavy-duty sheet iron tray[cite: 1].
- Machine / Batch Mixing: Load coarse aggregates, sand, and cement into the mixer drum in correct proportions to obtain a uniform distribution[cite: 1].
7.4 Slump Control

7.5 Formwork & Shuttering

Fine Aggregates (Sand)

- Free from silt, clay, organic impurities, and salts. Sea sand is strictly prohibited.[cite: 1]
Cement

Water
